Van Lifer Looking for a Stealth Solar Setup
Hello, i live in my van full-time and rely on a solar setup for most of my energy needs. I’ve been thinking about upgrading my system and want something that is more low-profile and stealthy. I don’t want big, bulky solar panels mounted on my roof, since I often park in urban areas and try to keep my van looking as unnoticeable as possible. While searching for options, I came across this https://www.sungoldsolar.com/sungold-flexible-solar-panel-pa-219/. It looks like a great choice because it’s thin, lightweight, and flexible, meaning I could attach it to my roof without it sticking out too much.

I do have some concerns, though. Since I’m on the road full-time, my solar panels are constantly exposed to different weather conditions—heat, cold, rain, and even occasional snow. Would a flexible panel like this hold up well with that kind of exposure? Also, does the efficiency really compare to rigid panels? I don’t need a huge amount of power, but I do want to make sure I can consistently charge my battery bank, run some lights, charge my laptop, and occasionally power a small fan.
